COMMUNITY RESILIENCE PLAN - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Darenth Parish Council
The Parish Council is currently developing a Community Resilience Plan to ensure our community’s readiness in the event of an emergency.
While emergencies are typically managed by the emergency services and other key responders, certain situations, such as major flooding, severe snow, or significant storm damage, may result in delayed response times, restricted access, or compromised utilities.
To enhance our collective ability to cope during such times, the Parish Council aims to establish a pre-emptive plan and is seeking to form a Community Emergency Response Team consisting of volunteers willing to assist if required. We welcome support from all members of the community, particularly those with resources, equipment, or relevant skills (such as 4x4 vehicles, tractors, chainsaws, or medical training).
An integral part of the plan involves creating a network of Community Liaison Volunteers, each responsible for a specific street or area. These volunteers would facilitate communication between the emergency coordinators and residents, ensuring clear and effective information sharing during an incident.
If you wish to volunteer or require assistance as a vulnerable person or group, please contact the Parish Clerk. All personal information will be managed confidentially in full compliance with GDPR and used strictly for emergency response purposes.
