Planned bridge maintenance - B2500 Watling Street, Dartford

Connect Plus Services works on behalf of National Highways and Connect Plus to manage, operate and maintain the M25 and its linking roads, including the Dartford-Thurrock River Crossing.

We’ll shortly be carrying out planned maintenance work to the bridge which carries the B2500 Watling Street over the A282 in Dartford. This essential work will ensure the continued safety and reliability of the bridge and reduce the risk of unplanned closures at short notice.

To do the work safely and with minimal disruption, the bridge will be closed each night between 10pm and 6am

• from 10pm Tuesday 27 May until 6am Saturday 31 May
• from 10pm Monday 2 June until 6am Saturday 7 June

We recommend allowing more time for journeys if driving overnight. The road will be reopened by 6am each morning and will remain open throughout the day.

Driving

Fully signposted diversion routes will be in place for east and westbound traffic

• via the A296 Princes Road, Princes Road Interchange (A282 junction 1b) and A296 Park Road

Residents and businesses

We’ll close the B2500 Watling Street, directly above the A282, in both directions. Access for residents and businesses on both sides of the bridge will be maintained but it won’t be possible to drive across the bridge during our hours of work.

Bus services

Buses following the 96 and 428 routes will be diverted via the A296 Princes Road. Services may be delayed during our hours of work.

Walking and cycling

We’ll be able to maintain access for pedestrians and cyclists. Please speak to a member of our team who will pause work where necessary and safely escort you across the bridge.
